Quick Update

Hey guys! This summer has gotten away from me way too quickly, and now I'm starting school again.  I wanted to do a quick update and share some highlights from my summer! :)

• I went to a week-long piano camp, and enjoyed all the extra help from the wonderful teachers that taught us all!  It was super fun, and I definitely want to do it again next year! :)

My two Aunts visited us for a week and it was so much fun! Their visit included midnight pool parties, hot fudge sundaes and plenty of girly movies :)  

In July, our church had it's annual growth retreat.   We had a really good speaker, and it was a fun time to fellowship and worship. One night i got to play piano with the worship team and that was a blast! :)  (To read about last year's growth retreat click here. )

In the beginning of August, we went to NC to give my sister a bridal shower! :) It was one of the biggest highlights of my summer!! The theme was sort of Italy, so there was yummy pastries and bread and cheese and gelato! (<--Did i spell that right?)

And lastly, I've had a few piano competitions/performances the past couple weeks.

Well, that was pretty much my summer.  School started about a month ago for us.  How has your summer been?

Package From Brazil!

Last month a sweet lady that my dad works with (she lives in Brazil)  came to the United States to do some work, and while she was here she stayed with us.  It was very cool and interesting to learn about Brazil from someone who lives there.  Her name is Ms. Camila and she was so sweet!  She was with us for about two days.  The first day we just relaxed and showed her around town. She really wanted to see what the malls here looked liked so the second day we took her to some stores and walked around the mall.  Anyway, last week we received a package from her and she sent us the sweetest things.  In the box was Brazilian chocolate, coconut flavored too! It had chunks of nuts in it too, that made it even more delicious :)

 She also sent my dad his first pair of flip-flops! We all think they are so cute, don't ya' think?

 

Since she sent my dad flip-flops, she sent us girls pretty key-covers.  There was a purse (first picture) a pig (second picture) and a doughnut! (third picture)

The last thing in the bag was for me. It was a cute little stuffed toy :)

Thank you again Miss Camila, it was so thoughtful of you to think of us, and we enjoyed everything you sent :)

Together At Last!

This past week, my two sisters, Mollie and Emily, and Emily's fiance all came to visit us for a few days!  It was so much, but the days flew by so fast!  One day we went to the Pink Palace Museum and we saw the dinosaur exhibit and to the planetarium which was really awesome!

It was such a fun day and such a fun trip!

Downtown Memphis!

Last week we had the opportunity to go and see downtown Memphis!  We were able to go to Beale street, (the birth of jazz) and we also got to take a nice relaxing carriage ride through and around Memphis! As you can see in the pictures below, Dante came with us too!

Surprise!

Last week we had some surprise visitors for Mother's Day! Can you guess who?!

Yep! You got it! It was Emily and Mollie!  For about two weeks they were planning a surprise visit to come for Mother's day! One night, around 10:00 pm, the doorbell rang, my mom got up to see who it was, and there they were standing there! she just about fell over, she had NO IDEA they were coming!  (I guess we did a good job keeping it a secret, huh?) It was quite funny, because the day they came, my mom deiced to  set up her sewing room, which was in the guest room! haha! well, we had a wonderful week, and Mother's day with them...

The Woodlief's Visit: Part 2

On our third day and last day the Woodlief's were here, we decided to start off the day and go outside and jump rope!
