I Love Fall

Happy fall ya'll!!! As we were returning from a trip, we drove through the mountains and the temperature dropped as we got higher (52 degrees) and when we stopped and got out of the car, it made me realize how much i missed fall!! I am kinda obsessed with boots and pea coats...(some of you have probably realized that already ;)...So i tried really hard to make a fall outfit without boots, but as you will see, i needed my boots.  Where i live its still pretty warm, but has gotten much cooler. (70-75 degrees)  I am hoping that it will cool down, and that our winter will break 40 degrees. Anyway, I designed a cute fall fashion aaaaannnnnndddddd, click HERE to try a wonderfully delicious recipe for pumpkin squares. I always think that their sort of like the fall version of brownies. haha!

The earrings are little fall leaves, and the sweater i thought was the perfect shade of orange :)

Mountain Trip: Day 4 & 5!

Hey Friends! I hope your doin' good! Today is my last post on our mountain vacation! On day 4 (Saturday) we went to a Christmas tree farm, and got a tree, before Emily and Mollie had to leave.  The farm we went to was really nice, and it didn't take us too long, before we found one we liked :)

We found a winner!
After we found a tree, we headed back to the hotel, but on the way home, we stopped at the hollow tree!

When we got to the inn, sadly, we had to say goodbye to Emily and Mollie :(  But we did have the nice thought of meeting our good friend's, the Woodlief's for dinner!

The outfit thing, was totally unplanned :)

We went to this great BBQ place for dinner, but before too long it was time to say goodbye to them too :(

The next day (day 5)  we left to go home, but on the way home, we stopped in to see our wonderful friends, the Davis' and it was SO fun! We played games (they taught me how to play Uno, which, believe it or not, I have never played before) and Mrs. Davis mad a really good lunch for us all!  After a few hours of fun fellowship, we decided we'd better get going because we still had 5 more hours of driving to do.  But before we left, we had to get a picture :)

The kids

The adults
Well, that was such a wonderful trip, and I hope you enjoyed reading about it!

Mountain Trip: Day 2 & 3!

This is a pretty long post, so grab some tea, and take a seat :)

Hello friends! How are ya'll doing this week? Sorry, I have been procrastinating and have not posted day 2 and 3, but I see now, I have left some of my readers hanging, so I must write it now, before all of the Christmas busyness begins. With that being said, day 2! Well, the mysterious day 2, was actually Thanksgiving.  We had plans to go up to Grandfather Mountain, but a certain member of our family misread the fine print in the brochure and, as it turns out, Grandfather Mountain is closed on Thanksgiving and Christmas. (Future reference for any of you, who were planning on going) haha :)

We drove up there in the morning, so after we found out we could not go up, we found another trail nearby, and went hiking for a few hours...

When we reached the top, there was a BEAUTIFUL view!!

Dad just fooling around.
After we finished hiking, we went back to the hotel, and hung around for a while until it was time for Thanksgiving dinner.  Let me just say that Thanksgiving dinner was WAY better than I expected a hotel meal to be. They had so many choices and the best dessert - I was so full when we were done! Since we were all  so full, we decided to drive into the town, and walk around all the shops and stores.  Being 8pm, all the stores were deserted, of course, but it was fun to look in all the shop windows anyway.

This was in one of the shop windows, and I thought it was really cool :)

Well, that was day 2, now lets go on to day 3 :)

We woke up early, ate breakfast, and went Black Friday shopping! It wasn't your typical, Mall, Walmart, and Target run, but it was still so fun to walk around all those cute stores! One of the shops we went in, was a fudge shop, and it was soooo yummy! After we were done shopping, we went to the hotel, ate lunch, and headed to Grandfather Mountain. I'm not a fan of riding around in the mountains (too many turns and twists) but, that was the only way up.

As we neared the top, it quickly became scarier, and scarier, because it was so high. (I'm not a fan of heights)  When we finally reached the top, it was SO WINDY! Oh my gosh, I don't think I have ever experienced anything so windy before. It nearly knocked me over as I was trying to walk.  When we got out of the car, we immediately went up to the mile-high swinging bridge. Because it was so windy, the bridge was swinging, and I was so ready to get off. But my mom made me walk all the way to the the end, and now, I am glad I did, but at the time, I was so cold!

After we went across the bridge, we went to the little zoo area and saw the bears, cougars, and otters.  It was so funny because as we approached the otter area, (they had a glass wall around them) as soon as they spotted Dante, they came right over and started pawing at the glass :)

After that, we were pretty exhausted, so went back to the hotel, and sat in the lovely parlor, and chatted for awhile :)

Hope joyed that post - stay tuned, day 4 & 5, coming soon!

Mountain Trip: Day 1!

Hello friends! How has your week been? Today I'm gonna do a post on our trip to the mountains for Thanksgiving! We left on Wednesday to go to the North Carolina mountains, and we had a BLAST! The car ride there, was pretty boring, but we watched a few movies, and that was fun...

Okay, funny story behind the next sequence of pictures.   ALL. DAY. I was trying to get a picture of me and my mom, and we literally tried all day. Every picture we tried to take, there was just something wrong with it...you'll see what I mean.....

I guess that one (the largest one) will just have to do...haha, oh well :)
Anyways, we were lost for a while, (and being lost in the mountains at night, on a road that is straight down one side, straight up the other side, and super curvy is not fun) but thanks to my mother's GPS we were able to find the hotel, by 8:00 pm, and we had dinner at this amazing restaurant! After dinner, well first I should explain that this inn we were staying at, was like you stepped back in time! When you walked in, it had this GORGEOUS piano (you know me, and how I love pianos, haha :)) and a beautiful parlor. But it really is so hard to explain, so take a look at the pics...

Anyways, after dinner, we all went and sat in the parlor and chatted for a while. :)

Well, come back soon, and see what we did for Thanksgiving!

Photo Shoot!

Last week, we had (more) gorgeous weather, and what with the leaves and everything, it was the perfect stage for a photo shoot! Dante is such a ham, and was pretty happy to have us following him  around, taking his picture! haha!

Then there were some funny, goofy pics...

"Yeah right, i'm not dropping this leaf..."

heheh, the sun was in his eyes!

Funny story behind this one...we were trying to get a picture of him and drop leaves behind him, but he just caught them in his mouth, and that is what happened. hehe!
Well, i'm sorry, but I uh, couldn't help NOT squeezing in a couple of scenery pics...

Well, that's it! Have a wonderful week!

Pumpkin Carving!

Hey, Hey Hey! How are all my awesome followers doing this week? Good, I hope?! Well, this may sound a bit strange, but last week, I carved my FIRST pumpkin.  I know, I know, you're thinking, your 13 years old and haven't carved a pumpkin before??? Well, that's the truth. Anyways, It was very fun! And the best part, was that just as we (my family) we about to start carving, my best friend called to see if we could skype! ( I said of course) I carved (with some help from my mom) my pumpkin to look like a cat sillhouette. I think it came out pretty great, if I don't say so myself...
