Hello friends! Whew, this week has been crazy! Today i've arranged a collection of different scarfs! I just got a new scarf last week, and it inspired me to do a scarf post. Scarfs are SO in, and they can accessorize any plain outfit, by adding some, texture and color. They go great with casual jeans, or something more dressy. Plus, if it is cold where you live, it's keeps you nice and cozy :) Enjoy!
Wow! Is it really Christmas Eve already??? What? Wasn't it just Thanksgiving?! Well, i don't know about you, but I still have a few gifts to wrap before tonight. Opps :P Anyway, I'm going to post one of my Favorite Christmas songs by a band called Casting Crowns. It's called "I Heard the Bells", and it's a beautiful song! It's from their Christmas album called Peace on Earth, and I liked loved every single song on that album and it was really hard to choose a single one to post...if you would like to hear samples of it, the whole album is on iTunes, so you can find it there.
Are you doing anything special for Christmas?
Luke 2:11 - "Today, in the town of David, a savior has been born unto you; he is the Messiah, the Lord."
Hey friends! Do I have a fun post for you today! I decided to do something special for my Aunt Kathleen. Her collection of button-down shirts, and comfortable jeans must be traded in for something more fashion forward. My aunt is the sweetest person, which is exactly why we need to help her out, okay? Lets show her that you can be comfortable AND look supper chic. But first, lets take a look at something she would normally wear...
Lets talk about the above picture. The jeans are cute, but dark wash jeans, normally tend to look a little more dressy. The sneakers, well, haven't you ever heard that beauty is pain? Wear those wedge boots! Now the "purse". Well, if you want your hands to be free, a cross body purse, definitely fits the bill, and won't hinder your stomach. With that being said, lets take a look at the outfit I have chosen, as the after...
If you've noticed, the bracelet is actually a watch! And the top, is actually a stretchy, comfortable, knit top!Well, I hoped you have enjoyed this little virtual fashion makeover, and happy shopping :)
Hey friends! I hope your doing great, and have had a good weekend! Today, for my music Monday, I'm posting a song, that you might have heard before, but it is pretty new. It's called "Kings and Queens" and the song is by Audio Adrenaline. I heard it recently on Kloveand thought it was a really cool song!
Here are the lyrics, if you want to see them:
Little hands, shoeless feet Lonely eyes looking back at me Will we leave behind the innocent too brief On their own, on the run When their lives have only begun These could be our daughters and our sons And just like a drum I can hear their hearts beating I know my God won't let them be defeated Every child has a dream to belong and be loved
(Chorus) Boys become kings, girls will be queens Wrapped in Your majesty When we love, when we love the least of these Then they will be brave and free Shout Your name in victory When we love, when we love the least of these When we love the least of these
Break our hearts once again Help us to remember when We were only children hoping for a friend Won't you look around These are the lives that the world has forgotten Waiting for doors of our hearts and our homes to open
Chorus
If not us, who will be like Jesus To the least of these If not us tell me who will be like Jesus Like Jesus to the least of these
Boys become kings, girls will be queens Wrapped in your majesty When we love, when we love the least of these Then they will be brave and free shout your name in victory We will love we will love the least of these
Hey guys! How have you all been? Today, to kick off your Friday, what's better than a fashion Friday? Today i'm just gonna post some random designs i've been working on over the last few weeks. The main theme of all the outfits being, skirts and leggings.
This one is not a skirt w/ leggings, but I thought it was cute, especially for winter :)
I hoped you liked them! Which one is your favorite?
Last week we went to the TobyMac Hit's Deep Concert, and let me just say, that that was the BEST concert I have ever been to! We heard, TobyMac, Mandisa, Brandon Heath, Britt Nicole, Chris August, Jamie Grace, and Group 1 Crew! It was so amazing to hear all of them perform, and what was ever cooler, was that during the intermission, we got to meet, Mandisa, and Brandon Heath!
It was so funny, when I came up to Mandisa, she said "Well, now aren't you adorable."
Another bonus, was that we also got to meet Klove's JD Chandler!
Hey Friends! I hope your doin' good! Today is my last post on our mountain vacation! On day 4 (Saturday) we went to a Christmas tree farm, and got a tree, before Emily and Mollie had to leave. The farm we went to was really nice, and it didn't take us too long, before we found one we liked :)
We found a winner!
After we found a tree, we headed back to the hotel, but on the way home, we stopped at the hollow tree!
When we got to the inn, sadly, we had to say goodbye to Emily and Mollie :( But we did have the nice thought of meeting our good friend's, the Woodlief's for dinner!
The outfit thing, was totally unplanned :)
We went to this great BBQ place for dinner, but before too long it was time to say goodbye to them too :(
The next day (day 5) we left to go home, but on the way home, we stopped in to see our wonderful friends, the Davis' and it was SO fun! We played games (they taught me how to play Uno, which, believe it or not, I have never played before) and Mrs. Davis mad a really good lunch for us all! After a few hours of fun fellowship, we decided we'd better get going because we still had 5 more hours of driving to do. But before we left, we had to get a picture :)
The kids
The adults
Well, that was such a wonderful trip, and I hope you enjoyed reading about it!
This is a pretty long post, so grab some tea, and take a seat :)
Hello friends! How are ya'll doing this week? Sorry, I have been procrastinating and have not posted day 2 and 3, but I see now, I have left some of my readers hanging, so I must write it now, before all of the Christmas busyness begins. With that being said, day 2! Well, the mysterious day 2, was actually Thanksgiving. We had plans to go up to Grandfather Mountain, but a certain member of our family misread the fine print in the brochure and, as it turns out, Grandfather Mountain is closed on Thanksgiving and Christmas. (Future reference for any of you, who were planning on going) haha :)
We drove up there in the morning, so after we found out we could not go up, we found another trail nearby, and went hiking for a few hours...
When we reached the top, there was a BEAUTIFUL view!!
Dad just fooling around.
After we finished hiking, we went back to the hotel, and hung around for a while until it was time for Thanksgiving dinner. Let me just say that Thanksgiving dinner was WAY better than I expected a hotel meal to be. They had so many choices and the best dessert - I was so full when we were done! Since we were all so full, we decided to drive into the town, and walk around all the shops and stores. Being 8pm, all the stores were deserted, of course, but it was fun to look in all the shop windows anyway.
This was in one of the shop windows, and I thought it was really cool :)
Well, that was day 2, now lets go on to day 3 :)
We woke up early, ate breakfast, and went Black Friday shopping! It wasn't your typical, Mall, Walmart, and Target run, but it was still so fun to walk around all those cute stores! One of the shops we went in, was a fudge shop, and it was soooo yummy! After we were done shopping, we went to the hotel, ate lunch, and headed to Grandfather Mountain. I'm not a fan of riding around in the mountains (too many turns and twists) but, that was the only way up.
As we neared the top, it quickly became scarier, and scarier, because it was so high. (I'm not a fan of heights) When we finally reached the top, it was SO WINDY! Oh my gosh, I don't think I have ever experienced anything so windy before. It nearly knocked me over as I was trying to walk. When we got out of the car, we immediately went up to the mile-high swinging bridge. Because it was so windy, the bridge was swinging, and I was so ready to get off. But my mom made me walk all the way to the the end, and now, I am glad I did, but at the time, I was so cold!
After we went across the bridge, we went to the little zoo area and saw the bears, cougars, and otters. It was so funny because as we approached the otter area, (they had a glass wall around them) as soon as they spotted Dante, they came right over and started pawing at the glass :)
After that, we were pretty exhausted, so went back to the hotel, and sat in the lovely parlor, and chatted for awhile :)
Hope joyed that post - stay tuned, day 4 & 5, coming soon!
